Farrier & Corn Nuts Day

I just checked the 10 day weather forecast which calls for a 60% chance of showers on the 12th. That would be SO great! I might actually do well since the rain would keep me cool enough. Of course, that forecast will change 8 times, if not more, between now and then.

First run in the dark in quite a while. Orion and friends were good to see, all bright and sparkly. This was a really nice outing. I felt good and wasn't suffering at all. Breath was mostly 3/3. I thought I might have been a little closer to a flat 10 pace, but I'll take the 10:10. I've never had a training run with an average pace less than 10:10, but I think on this route I could hit the upper 9's without too much struggle in the near future were I so inclined.

It was simply nice to do a short run instead of the hour+ runs I've been doing lately. Refreshing.

Tomorrow is another long run day. I think I'm going to aim for about 11 miles and get up early to do it. The half marathon is a week from tomorrow. My, how time flies!

Food

Breakfast: 6:55 a.m. green grapes, white peach, red plum, 1/2 oz almonds.
Morning Snack: 10:00 a.m. Corn Nuts, Diet Coke.
Lunch: 12:50 p.m. @Arby's - Martha's Vineyard Salad, 3 Mac & Cheese Bites (yummy, of course), ice tea; Milky Way Dark (I like Milky Way "regular" a lot better, I discovered).
Supper: 6:20 p.m. tomatoes, celery, whole wheat pita stuffed with spinach/egg concoction*.
Evening Snack: 8:45 p.m. 3 Triscuits and honey.

*spinach/egg concoction: toasted pine nuts and sauteed mushrooms, onions, & garlic cooked in a skillet with sea salt, scrambled eggs, and spinach. I used canned spinach, so it didn't look all that great, but it tasted good.
