Drab, Drizzly, Dreary Day

The past couple mornings, right when I wake up, I turn on the radio and promptly doze for another couple hours or more. Without the radio on, I usually give up trying to get back to sleep and get up. The good side is I get a little more sleep. The bad side is that it's almost 9 a.m. before I get up.

Workout

November 11
11:26 a.m. CT
Warm up: .5 mile walk
Distance: 5.59
Duration: 1:04:59
Pace ave: 11:58 (11:35  without the 5 minute warm-up)
HR ave 143, max 160
Cool down: .5 mile walk

This was a pretty comfortable workout. I ran on my treadmill using one of the pre-programmed settings, P2L7 (Endurance Level 7), which uses a 0-6% incline and 5.0-6.5 mph speed. The Endurance program is only 30 minutes, so I did it twice, the first one with a 5 minute warm up tacked onto the front end, and took a short bio-break between the two programs. I watched NCIS while running. Mark Harmon ... mmmmm ... even if he is looking old(er) these days. I guess he is 57 after all ... not that 57 is *old* ... just a bit older than I.

Food

Breakfast: 9:20 a.m. banana, black grapes, carambola, 1/2 apple, 1/a oz almonds.
Lunch: 2:00 p.m. big salad - mixed baby greens, red bell pepper, small sweet pepper, cauliflower, mushrooms, lemon juice, clementine, feta cheese; protein shake with whey powder, 1% milk, cinnamon, 2 packets Splenda; hot tea.
Afternoon Snack: 5:00 p.m. pretzel chips, 1 mini Tootsie Pop.
Supper: 7:00 p.m. homemade bean soup, 6 Triscuits, garlic herb vegetable medley (sugar snap peas, roasted potatoes, red peppers).
Evening Snack: 8:45 p.m. Bosc pear, 1/2 oz almonds.

I did it again: bought something that shouldn't have junk in it but does. The vegetable medley has a bunch of crap in it. Gotta remember to actually read the fine print on things that shouldn't need reading in the first place.
