Workout
It's been 9 days since I last ran. I decided to give my ankle a rest. It’s still not 100%, but it does feel better. Didn’t have any twinges during the run. Felt pretty tired (but not exhausted) at the end, perhaps because of the heat/humidity or maybe because of the pace. Normally, I tend to try to do the second half a little faster than the first half, but today it felt like I was slower on the second half. I definitely didn't have a very strong finish. As it turns out, today's time was the second fastest I've done this particular route, the fastest being :58:51.5 last fall when I was in better shape and a few days post-Evansville Half Marathon. The third fastest time was about a minute and a half slower than today.

Food
My eating habits the past several days have been enough to make one shudder. There were meals or even whole days where I did pretty well sticking to whole/natural (e.g. unprocessed) foods, but by far the majority of the time was a total reversal to pre-fasting days. Two of my house guests went back to the UK yesterday. The third leaves on Sunday. At that point, it'll be easy to get back into the swing of eating the way I want without having to contend with eating out a lot and/or being around a lot of junk food.I definitely felt better overall when I was eating very little processed stuff and lots of fruits and vegetables, some nuts/seeds, a smidgen of cheese (feta), and a little fish every few days.
