We ventured to Marengo Cave yesterday. It was a great trip, even the unplanned detour to Hawesville, Kentucky where we had lunch.
The past few days have been anything other than stellar in the exercise and eating universe. I haven't been for a run in three days. On the plus side, my ankle, while still bothering me, seems to be getting better.
Far too much junk food (chips and candy) and less than optimal meals (pizza, fried stuff) have left me feeling pretty crappy ... bloated and cranky. Moi? Cranky? Never. :-) Not all of my meals have been traditional Standard American Diet, though. Each day, I generally managed to get in at least one salad of some sort. Today, I was back to normal eating lots of fruits and veggies and no junk. I feel a lot better for it, too, both physically and psychologically.
Tomorrow, the Gibson County Fair starts. Sometime during the week, I'll most likely have a catfish sandwich there. Maybe an elephant's ear or funnel cake, too, but neither sounds all that wonderful at the moment, so I might just manage to take a pass. Maybe. The fair only comes once a year, though.
