Another Gomer in Le Tour de France

Le Tour

I watched Stage 12 (yesterday's) this afternoon. Good grief. Yet another idiot on the tour. There's a new form of EPO called CERA ... apparently he thought the tests wouldn't pick it up since it's a relatively new product. Kudos to the testing agencies for nabbing yet another bonehead. As with the last two gomers, the current one was suspended from his team, Saunier Duval, expelled from the tour, and hauled away for questioning by the police. Saunier Duval elected to pull their entire team from the rest of the tour.

BTW, EPO and CERA are legal prescription drugs used to treat anemia and fatigue by increasing red blood cell production.

Food

Breakfast: watermelon, red grapes, blueberries
Morning Snack: 1/2 oz almonds
Lunch: whole wheat pita stuffed with hummus, feta, spinach; carrots; apple
Afternoon Snacks: V8, Banana Larabar; 1 oz bag Cool Ranch Doritos
Supper: pineapple salsa with 1 oz black bean baked tortilla chips; green smoothie - V8, kale, onion, cucumber, apple, banana, strawberries, raspberries; clementine

Yeah, it's been a bit of an odd day in the food category.

A noteworthy point: I've not had a Diet Coke since June 1. I'd not had a caffeinated drink until the ice tea the other day on the farrier trip. I have had two bottles of Dad's Diet Root Beer this month. Other than the tea and the Dad's, I've been drinking mainly filtered tap water with an occasional bottle of sparkling mineral water or seltzer water.
