Not With The Program

I'm definitely not with the program today. I woke up feeling tired and out of it & the feeling has persisted all day ... such a shame since yesterday was so good. When I went to bed last night, I'd intended to run this morning. By the time 6 a.m. rolled around, I decided I'd rather have a sharp stick in the eye, so I somewhat fitfully tried to get a little more sleep. Rolled out of bed around 8:15.

As I write this part (late afternoon), I'm struggling with a rather large-sized feeling of don't-give-a-crap. That statement translates to wanting sit on my butt on the couch getting caught up on shows I have recorded and hoovering down a bunch of cool ranch Doritos. Good thing I don't have any & am too tired to even want to go to the store. After having eaten the hummus & Triscuits, I feel better, not all that motivated, but at least starting to feel sort of give-a-crap again.

What a surprise (not), there's more than one idiotic rider in Le Tour this year. Moises Duenas tested positive for EPO at the Stage 4 test. He's appropriately been immediately suspended (although, I think dropped altogether would be better ... perhaps that's what they mean by "suspended") from his team, expelled from the tour, and hauled off by police. Bonehead.

Now it's time to go walk the neighbor's dog before putting her up for the night.

Around 8 or so, I started feeling enough "with it" to go run tonight. It still wasn't much. Thought I might do 4 or 5 laps, but didn't. Better than nothing I suppose. My ankle didn't bother me much for a change.

Food

Breakfast: 2 packets oatmeal and blueberries
Lunch: concoction of steamed summer squash, whole grain rotini, mushroom spaghetti sauce; a few baby carrots, some tomato, a little celery; watermelon
Afternoon Snacks: early - 1/2 oz salted almonds; late - dried apricots, 12g dark chocolate, Triscuits & hummus
Supper: big salad - spring mix, spinach, onion, cucumber, tomatoes, carrots, edamame, cauliflower, blueberries, feta, sunflower seeds, balsamic vinegar; watermelon
