Looong Drive South

No, I didn't get on the scales this morning. Cowardly, eh?

The drive to Dallas was long ... about an hour longer than what it used to take me because I lifted the load from the accelerator a bit (around 67 instead of, um, well ..), but the gas mileage is a lot better as a result. I also managed to lose my credit card the last time I filled up the car in Mt Vernon, TX. I paid at the pump & slid the card into my wallet (didn't put it into one of the slots in the wallet ... it was just in the middle part where the wallet folds in half), stuck the wallet in my pocket, filled the tank, & went inside to empty my own tank & get a bottle of water. When I went to pay, I dropped my wallet, but I didn't notice anything lying next to it when I picked it up. Anyway, I got in the car & realized I couldn't find the credit card I paid with. I went back inside to look for it and looked on the ground around my car and inside the car and in my pockets and in my wallet. No dice. So, I called BoA, reported it lost, and cancelled the card & asked them to send a new one to me. Sigh. Good thing that's not my only card.

Once I arrived in Plano, I met my friend, Brian, at East Side Kelly's (or Kelly's Eastside or some permutation of that) for a beer (Guinness for me and Blue Moon for him) and a very nice spinach salad (no salad for him).

Now, I'm VERY tired and am hitting the hay for a nice long sleep. I brought my running gear, but I'm not feeling very motivated. Brian is running the DRC Half on Sunday. I never got around to registering for it, and now the registration is closed since they reached the cap on entrants. Figures. Oh well. It's warm down here, and you all know how much I love to run in the heat. :-)
