My primary goal was to get in under 30:00. Check. Wahoo! This was a PR by quite a bit, 1:15.
My breathing is still not quite right, but it seems to be getting better still. Aside from that, nothing hurts or aches except my calves that tried really hard to cramp when I was walking around after the race. They were fine during the race.
Check out the race results.
The age groups were shifted up by a year, so instead of being in the 45-49 group, I was in the 41-45 group. I placed 5/15 in that group. Would have been 6/13 if the groups were the normal way. I was 92/219 (including walkers) overall. I think I heard the announcer say there were 188 runners (or something like that).
It was a bit on the warm side, but it's an enjoyable course. Next race is another 5K in Boonville on the 25th.
Food
I ate the last of the junk (again) yesterday, so the house is now junk-free aside from some things like honey. Oh, and Diet Coke. At least there are no Peanut M&M's, no Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, no chips of any sort (just Triscuits). Since I feel better when I don't eat junk, it's stands to reason that I wouldn't eat junk. Sometimes, though, logic simply fails to have an impact. My Food Diary on CalorieKing.com
