Christmas Parade

Now add a sore throat (on the right side of it only, tho) to the mix. Grrrr. I'm afraid this cold is going to still be with me when I head to Dallas next week. Right now, I'm planning to drive down on Thursday, possibly Wednesday.

I went to the Christmas parade today. It started at 5 p.m. which is also when it started getting colder again. When I got back it was 30 with a windchill of 18. It was nice to get out of the house for a while. The parade was typical for a small town: lots of fire trucks and police cars and ambulances followed by a few small floats with local dance troupes or cheerleaders or churches or whatever else. The high school marching band was in there, too. Santa and Mrs. Claus brought up the rear. Lots of candy was thrown out for the kids. I snagged 2 pieces of chocolate and 2 pieces of Dubble Bubble.

There is a high school basketball game tonight, but I don't feel like a) going by myself (normally not a problem), and b) going back out in the cold to walk over there and back. It's only about 7 blocks. Were I to drive, I'd be walking probably three blocks since parking is a premium around the gymnasium.

Might as well make it a whole week without running. :-|

Food

Breakfast: 10:15 a.m. 2 oatmeal pecan cookies.
Lunch: 1:50 p.m. Lean Cuisine Salmon with Basil, apple.
Afternoon Snacks: 5:45 p.m. 3 small pieces of candy from the Christmas parade.
Supper: 6:40 p.m. Progresso Garden Vegetable soup, Triscuits, honey, clementine, hot tea, Splenda.
Evening: 9:00 p.m. microwave popcorn.

Still Cold, Still A Cold

It's been a scorcher today, all the way up to the mid to upper 20's. At 7 pm, it was 18, tho. At 10 pm it's 22. Getting warmer! Woohoo!

My cold seems to have worsened some. It's definitely in my chest along with my head. Oh joy.

Food

Breakfast: 9:45 a.m. banana, clementine, kiwi, green grapes, 1/2 oz almonds.
Lunch: 1:00 p.m. Campbell's chicken noodle soup (the 30% less sodium kind), Triscuits, pear, hot tea, 1 packet Splenda.
Afternoon Snacks: 3:45 p.m. mini bag microwave popcorn, 2 mini Tootsie Pops; general grazing - freshly baked oatmeal pecan cookies my neighbor made.
Supper: 7:30 p.m. whole wheat pita, hummus, Laughing Cow Spreadable Swiss.
Evening: hot tea w/splenda, couple of cookies.

Brrrrrr!

Ugh! This cold is getting worse. I don't have a fever, but I sure feel crappy. I didn't even manage to get out of PJ's today.

A cold front pounded through last night. It was 19 this morning, currently (9:00 pm) 26 with a windchill of 19. The forecast calls for the 30's for the rest of the week and weekend. Brrr. It's a relatively balmy 43 in Dallas (35 windchill).

Um, ok, another day off. The half marathon in Dallas is bound to be just stellar ... not.

Food

Breakfast: 10:00 a.m. 1 packet Kashi vanilla oatmeal, 1 packet Quaker apples & cinnamon.
Afternoon Grazing: lots of chips, hot tea.
Supper: 6:30 p.m. edamame, blueberries, hot tea.
Evening Snack: 8:00 p.m. hot chocolate; 10:00 a.m. 1/2 oz almonds, 4 prunes.

No Running, No Walking, Just Being

Today was another one of those dreary, heavily overcast days. It wasn't particularly cold, just very gray. I went to Kiwanis with my mom & took my groceries to the Salvation Army which is where the Kiwanis meeting was held. Afterward, I went to Lowell Elementary for an afternoon in my aunt's classroom. I worked with a couple of the brighter kids this time reading and discussing a book about spiders.

Workout

December 3
One more day off for my ankle. Aside from that, my chest feels like one of my fat cats it sitting on it.

Food

Breakfast: 10:00 a.m. banana, green gapes, clementine, 1/2 oz almonds.
Lunch: 12:00 p.m. @Kiwanis - fried chicken breast minus most of the skin, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, roll, lemon cake, tea.
Afternoon Snacks: 4:00 p.m. kettle chips, Diet Coke*.
Supper: 7:30 p.m. steamed salmon, spinach, & grape tomatoes; blueberries; hot tea; Milky Way.

*left over from the movie last night. Stuck it in the back of my fridge on the bottom. It even still had ice in it.
