Powerless Early Evening

The power went out late this afternoon right around 5:15. Well, it went out once for about 5 seconds, then twice for a little longer, then thrice for good. It came back on around 6:55.

Workout

Today is an official workout rest day.

Food

Breakfast: 9:40 a.m. banana, nuked egg.
Lunch: 12:00 p.m. Lean Cuisine Tortilla Crusted Fish, apple, 1 Snickers miniature.
Afternoon Snacks: 4:00 p.m. 1/2 oz almonds, vanilla protein shake with cinnamon & Splenda.
Supper: 7:00 p.m. Progresso Steak & Roasted Russet Potatoes soup, green leaf lettuce, strawberries, 1 Snickers miniature.
Evening: a couple cups of Apples Cinnamon Spice hot tea.

1275 calories: 23% of the calories are from fat, 22% from protein, 55% from carbs.

The protein shake tastes better when made with milk, but I didn't have any so I used water. Still tastes good enough, especially with the added cinnamon & sweetener.

Some of the Snickers I received as a gift are the Rockin' Road version. They don't taste nearly as good as the original. Will need to find someone to foist them upon.

What kind of protein shakes do you use?

I use Optimum Nutrition's Gold Standard Natural 100% Whey. No artificial flavors, colors, or sweeteners. I can bring some up with me when I come later this month. It was $40 for a 5 lb tub from Amazon back in Sept 2007.

I picked it based on 1) it not having a bunch of junk in it, 2) nutritional content (lots of protein, only a little fat and sugar, plus calcium & potassium), 3) reviews saying it tasted pretty decent, and 4) price, in that order.
