I forgot to publish this post yesterday, the day of the workout. I did a couple "sets" of push-ups (real ones) last night: 7, 5, 4. Will try to remember to do them every other day. Am not really sore today ... just a little achey around the shoulders. My thighs are a bit sore from yesterday's sprints. They aren't bad, though. It's the good kind of sore.
Workout
June 14, Sunday8:19 a.m. CT
Warm up: .45 mile walk
Distance: 5.98 miles
Duration: 1:21:54
Pace ave: 13:41
HR ave 128, max 161
@start: 71, 88%, cloudy, ESE@2
@end: 76, 78%, mostly cloudy, SSW@2
Shoes: Green Pegasus 25
I'd intended to do a 7-8 mile "long" run today. Generally, once I get going I start feeling better. Not today. Quite the opposite. After about 11 miles I noticed I wasn't feeling so great, legs sorta weak, breathing hard but HR still under 150 mostly. I ran until 14:45 and walked 8 minutes, ran down McCarty Hill pretty hard for 1:30, walked 20:00 with 4 10-15 second full out sprints in the middle, ran 7:12, walked 5:15, ran 5:00, walked 6:14, ran 6:09, walked 7:36.
I ate a bagel at 6 a.m., but before I got home, my stomach was growling.
Note to self: don't try to do a long run when it'll have been the 5th day in a row of running.
