I went to the high school football game against Gibson Southern tonight with my next-door neighbors. We lost 6-20. Bummer. At least it wasn't a total routing.
The marching band performed at half time and was better than I expected it to be. Sometimes, I really miss band. The band is in competition tomorrow afternoon at Poseyville. If I get sufficiently motivated, I might drive down to watch.
After my run tomorrow, though, I'm headed to Golden Heritage Days first and foremost. Expect a load of "planned" junk in my food diary. One booth has awesome cinnamon rolls. Another has fabulous apple pie. Another spectacular fudge. Another breaded pork tenderloin sandwiches. Yum. Today's junk wasn't planned ... it just sort of happened.
Workout
September 19Today is an official rest day. As the day wore on, my calves got progressively sorer. They aren't in agony, but if someone came up and poked on them, the retaliation would be swift and purposeful. :-) I guess the extra two repeats on the hill yesterday did them in. Tomorrow is an "easy" run. I hope the day's warming doesn't happen too quickly in the morning because I anticipate I'll be sleeping later than usual since I'm up quite a bit later than normal.
Food
Breakfast: 9:10 a.m. apples, clementine, kiwi, green grapes, 1/2 oz almonds.
Morning Snack: 10:45 a.m. 1/2 oz Kashi Honey Sesame crackers.
Lunch: 3:00 p.m. whole wheat pita, hummus, raw veggies (cauliflower, radishes, big carrot, red bell pepper, grape tomatoes), nuked parsnip.
Afternoon Snack: 5:45 p.m. @grandparents' - 2 generic small cookies.
Supper: 7:00 p.m. @football game - hotdog with ketchup, Diet Coke, cheeseburger with ketchup (half time).
Evening Snack: 10:00 p.m. @neighbors' - Club crackers, cheddar cheese, nuts, 2 small glasses red wine.
I took a bottle of 2006 the Little Penguin pinot noir to my neighbors' after the game. It was surprisingly good and smooth with very little tannins. I paid $11.99 for it at some store in Bloomington, IL, about a year ago. I'd definitely buy it again.
