We didn't get enough snow to write home about, just a few flurries. It's well below normal temps, but not as frigid as lots of other places. The sun even came out for a little while late this afternoon.
Went to see Gran Torino tonight with my neighbors. I really enjoyed the movie, but I didn't expect it to be what it was, particularly the ending. I'm not sure what I did expect, tho. Not anything like Dirty Harry, for sure, but ... hmmm ... I think the trailer makes it seem like there is more action that there actually is. Bob liked it better than Cheryl did. There is plenty of humor scattered throughout, much of it what we'd typically call racist remarks, but there doesn't seem to be any malicious intent with it from the main character ... it's just how he calls it. I'm sure there will be plenty who disagree with me. So be it.
I made some more bean stuff in the slow cooker today: Anasazi beans, long-grain brown rice, chicken broth, a couple carrots, a white onion, a very large garlic clove. Turned out pretty good.
