My run today tuckered me out, probably mostly due to the heat and being in the sun longer than normal. I dozed a bit this afternoon and feel pretty tired this evening. Am glad tomorrow is a rest day (or cross training) on the training schedule.

I tried really hard to do a very slow run since I ran a hard race yesterday. I really don't like running this slowly. It's uncomfortable. My shoulders tighten up. My feet get sorta crampy. Aside from the pace, it was friggin' hot. The seventies are really nice when you're not running.
This was the farthest I've run since the half marathon in Dallas on March 15th, and I'm pretty tired. I think the tiredness may be due more to the heat than anything. I've got a 10K in two weeks, so I need to get some longer runs in than I have been.
My average heart rate was higher than I wanted, but I think it was mostly elevated (for the pace, anyway) from the heat. I ran a 5-miler with the same average rate but at a minute per mile faster on April 9. The temps during that run were 47-55. That's a big difference from 72-79.
