One Thousand Calories

I finished watching Auschwitz:Inside the Nazi State this afternoon. I found it to be interesting, incredibly disheartening, and, really, heartbreaking. I've never gone to see Auschwitz, but I did go to Dachau a few years ago. I am unable to fathom how anyone could ever believe the wholesale extermination of a people is correct, right, proper, a moral imperative. The actions of the human race can indeed be despicable, reprehensible, abhorrent, and any number of other such adjectives. I simply don't get it.

Workout

Nada. I did the PT for my ankle, brushed Mom's pool, and that's about it. Since it rained early this morning, I didn't even have to carry much water.

Food

Breakfast: fruit salad - banana, blueberries, grapes, clementine; 1/2 oz almonds.
Morning Snack: n/a
Lunch: big salad - baby spinach, mixed baby greens, bell peppers (green, red, orange, yellow), onion, mushrooms, cauliflower, celery, carrots, tomato, sunflower seeds, ground flaxseed, balsamic vinegar; nectarine; one square of Ghirardelli 86% cacao dark chocolate.
Afternoon Snack: I crashed and burned big time here ... you know that candy I bought yesterday? well ... I ate 4 Almond Joys (the .6 oz "fun" size) which comes to 320 calories, the 3.5 oz box of Butterfinger minis which amounts to 450 calories, and 9 Hershey's Kisses for 230 calories. 1000 calories. One Thousand Calories! A thousand!! What the !*&@^$^#* was I thinking?! Oh wait a minute ... I WASN'T thinking at all, apparently, or more aptly wasn't listening to what I was thinking.
Supper: Triscuits & Sun-Dried Tomato Pesto; 9 Kisses; and then later, a whole wheat pita and hummus. What's the deal?
