Good Run, Yummy Supper

Today was the normal busy day prepping to be out of town for several days. At least was already 90% packed for a change. When I get back from the UK, I'll be home one day and then will drive to Dallas. The memorial service for Gene is on Saturday, November 1st.

I still haven't signed up for the DRC Half on November 2nd. The weather should be similar to what it was this past Sunday in Evansville, assuming it's "normal" weather and not 10 degrees above. I really need to keep my running as consistent as possible while I'm gone, and make a better effort than usual to eat properly so I don't find 5 pounds (of the blubber variety, not the monetary) while I'm there.

Workout

October 14
7:40 a.m. CT
Warm up: .45 mile walk
Distance: 3.09 miles
Duration: 34:31.4
Pace ave: 11:10
HR ave 143, max 159
Cool down: .45 mile walk
@start: 62, 91%, partly cloudy, SSE@4
@end: 67, 86%, partly cloudy, S@3

My quads are still sore from Sunday's race, so I purposefully took it easy today. The soreness diminished some during the run. Nice outing. Since I have a 6 a.m. flight tomorrow and won't have an opportunity to run unless I get up at 3:00 (not), I'm considering doing another short run tonight. Or maybe just a walk.
As of 7:40 p.m. ... the answer to doing another walk or run is a resounding "no."

Food

Breakfast: 9:20 a.m. banana, kiwi, clementine, black grapes, 1/2 oz almonds.
Lunch: 12:00 p.m. black japonica rice, nuked carrots & parsnips.

@Western Ribeye - pan-fried salmon, baked sweet potato with cinnamon butter, steamed veggies (broccoli, carrots, cauliflower), brown bread, garlic butter.
Evening Snack: might have some ice cream later (@parents').

I sat on the patio of the Bryant Park Grill in New York with my family and a few of my favorite L.A. friends. We met at five and when we finished dinner at nearly 8 p.m., it was still light out. When we arrived, some sort of concert was going on and when we left, there was an outdoor yoga class -- hundreds of people doing yoga on the grass.
