It's nice to be home, again, but part of me wishes I were still in Canada. My kitties sure were glad to see me, and I them. They were once again little (ok, big & fat) stick-tights the past two nights and all day yesterday & most of today.

Gorgeous day! Brilliant blue sky, light wind, chilly but not frigid. I postponed my long run until today (instead of doing in yesterday) since the it was supposed to be a couple degrees warmer and a lot less windy. Good run. Quads started feeling a bit fatigued at around 8.5 miles. Took in Gu about 15 minutes before starting, then at 40 & 80 minutes. Got caught by a train at 80 minutes, so that worked out well. Walked for about a minute and a half at 40 mins, which was about the same amount of time I was waiting on the train. Was really stiff and achey at the end and had very little extra oompf to pick up the pace the last block. The bottom of my right foot (hey, other side of the body for a change!) near where my toes join up was sore from maybe 5 or so miles onward.
I was able to take off my gloves and jacket for about the middle 5 miles. Even though the wind wherever the monitoring station is said 2 mph, out in the fields, it was higher, enough so to make me become really chilled at about mile 8. Jacket & gloves went back on for the rest of the run.

Food
One of the nice things about running 12 miles is not having to be overly concerned about eating too much, assuming I don't eat a pint of ice cream, a bag of Doritos, and 2 pounds of Hershey's kisses.
