4 on the Treadmill

I watched sped-up versions of 4 days of Le Tour last night and today. I enjoyed it, but I'm glad it's now over. It's a long stretch of a lot of TV time.

I really needed to run. It'd been four days since my last outing, and I needed it mentally and physically. When I got on the treadmill, I didn't really have any plan as to how far/fast I would go. I felt really good after the first mile, so thought I'd go maybe 3 miles. Still felt good at 1.5, so I thought I'd do a speed pyramid and end with another mile at 5.5. Yeah. Maybe not. A dull ache started in my back at 1.75 miles. Stayed about the same until 3.25 and then got worse. And then "worser. ":-) That's when I decided 4 miles would have to be good enough. Aside from my back, I felt great, though. My back didn't bother me at all on the cool down walk.

The YMCA 5k is two weeks from yesterday. It's a race in which I'd really like to do well. The YMCA is in four weeks. Ditto. Hopefully, my back will be fully mended by then.
