Très Lazy in Alaska

We're heading home from Alaska tonight, and I've not gone out for a run even once. I'm not sure why I didn't take advantage of the great running weather (cool, cloudy). It perplexes me. My back has been pretty sore every morning except the day before yesterday, when it didn't hurt at all, and this morning, when it was only a smidgen achy. It has been staying light outside until well past 10 at night, so running late would have been easily possible on about three nights. Aside from that, the hotel has a couple nice treadmills.

So, now I'm headed to Florida for a week where it will be "nice" and humid and hot. Wouldn't one think I'd rather have run this week than next were I to take a week off?! Go figure.

The Evansville 10K is a month from tomorrow. If I run consistently between now and then, I'll be ready. If not ... it won't be pretty. During the upcoming month, I'll be traveling 16 days. Sure need to conjure up more discipline than I showed this week!

An even more urgent matter, the Evansville Half Marathon is in 9 weeks. I haven't done a long run since the 9 miles in Florida about a month ago. I'd prefer to get in at least 2 runs of about 12 miles and 2 runs of about 14 miles before the half. One doesn't just go out and do that without building up to it, at least not at 45, so I really need to get in gear. Let's hope my back cooperates.
